Why is he thinking? We all know this leads to bad things.

[Ken needed to think.  After all, there's lots to think about, this place, the weird ass stuff that happens here, not to mention the fact that people are getting back abilities that are superhuman, but perhaps they aren't out to kill him or cause mayhem or get immortality out of it. 

So, he went to the place he felt the most comfortable.  You can now find the former soccer pro doing the legit thing he does best, showing off his skills with a soccer ball at Tiger Field, the field out by the high school.  Why there instead of the park? Its cause it has goal posts of course.  He's camped out in the middle of the wide open space and is willing to do tricks for you.  Seriously, movement helps him cope.  So feel free to bother him, try and steal the ball, talk  or just applaud, he's actually quite good and doesn't mind an audience.

Right now he's just bouncing the ball off his head meditatively.]

[O HAI KEN. Key will be cutting through the field from her school. She didn't recognize Ken, of course, since they only talked on the phone.]

What are you doing? Shouldn't soccer be played with more than one person, should it not? Because there should be two teams.

I'm just playing around. And yeah, that's how soccer's usually played. But I can still practice when its only me.

[Ken strikes a proud pose]

I do! Its my favorite sport in fact! Do you play?

[Key manages an unsure glance.]

Key has never played any sport before.

[He smiles gently and holds the ball in his hands, he's used to coaching little kids]

Would you like to try? You don't have to do what I was doing, you can kick it around with your feet too.

[She raises her hands up toward the ball, though she doesn't grab it yet.]

...But Key will not be very good at it.

It's ok, you don't have to be good at it. The point right now is to have fun. [hands her the ball]

[She looks, unsure, at the ball.]

All right. Key will try her best.

Will you block the goal like in the normal game?

Alright. Just give me a moment to get over there. [He smiles reassuringly at her] If you have any questions, just ask ok?

[She nods, and she seems like she's about to kick the ball, but she hesitates as her foot nears it. She looks up at him.]

This game seems dangerous. What if the ball hits you? Key does not want to hurt anyone.

[He pauses, and then smiles] That ball has enough give that it doesn't seriously hurt if you get hit with it, and it's ok, you won't hurt me.

[Key nods, pulls back her leg, and kicks it--and hey, for a scrawny white gal, she kicks that ball hard! It goes speeding toward the soccer player at a pretty good speed!]

[Ken smiles, hey, she shows potential, he blocks it mainly to get a gauge about how hard she kicks]

Hey! You got a good spin on it, you're pretty good strength wise, and your aim ain't half bad. [Impressed]

[Oh man, Ken, she's never been good at anything, so you get an enthusiastic smile from her! :D]

Maybe you should join the local team or something I think you'd be a good player if you kept practicing.

There is a local team? Key would like to play. Especially if Key can be good at it and make new friends.

But she does not know the rules. Will Ken tell her them?

Well, I don't know if there's a team or not. If there isn't I'll start one eventually. And sure! I'll tell you the rules. I know all the tournament ones so they'll be easy to adapt to house rules if anyone wants.

[Kicks the ball gently back to her]

Has Ken played for a long time?

Well, I'll see what I can do there Key. And yeah, I've been playing since I was little. I was even on the way to the J-Leagues! [He grins, lost in the memory for a minute before shaking his head]

Well, life got in the way, but I still play as a hobby now when I'm not working.

A league here? Hmm, you know that may not be a bad idea. We'll see. [Grins at her, Key speaks his language!]

[Key misses one of Ken's kicks and runs quickly after the ball--she's never really had to run for any reason in her life, but it was a nice feeling. Even so, it was also a bad idea to rush around like she did. By the time she returned back with the ball, she was panting.]

Key does not run very much. Key's classmates ran a lot, though. Key used to watch them from the school roof.

[He smiles and comes over to her] You'll be alright, you're just not used to it. Why don't we sit down for a minute. [He flops down on the soft grass]

[Key follows his example and drops like a sack of rocks. She lays there with her arms sprawled out like she's in mid-attempt to make a snow angel.]

Key likes closing her eyes and listening to things... It is Key's favorite thing to do.
