[It's the smell that wakes him more then the sudden transformation of his bed into rubble. The smell of smoke and fire and charred flesh that just makes him sit up with a start, momentarily back in the warehouse before he realizes that he is cold, not hot.

Still, the air makes him cough and choke, and managing to find an old pair of shoes he stands to look for those who shared the house with him.]

[Ken's wandering the streets, looking for something, anything useful in trying to figure out what the hell has happened here. He's in danger mode so you may not want to approach him from behind.]

[After a sleepless night, Miakis is outside, sitting on what used to be the front porch. She's staring up at the sky, confused and horrified by this turn of events, but Ken's yelling is enough to snap her back to reality.

She stands and waves toward him, calling out to him:] Over here~

Miakis! [He rushes over] what the hell happened here?

We should find the kids, though, and gather some supplies. [She kicks at some rubble, frowning.] If there's anything to even be found, that is. Ugh.

[ It takes him a while to get the two houses down to where Ken and Miakis live. He's wearing nothing but a pair of tattered jeans that he obviously dug up from somewhere. Even his ever-present glasses are gone. ]

[ He smiles, navigating the rubble over to Ken ] Considerably colder, but yes. I'm alive.
