Why is he thinking? We all know this leads to bad things.

[Ken needed to think. After all, there's lots to think about, this place, the weird ass stuff that happens here, not to mention the fact that people are getting back abilities that are superhuman, but perhaps they aren't out to kill him or cause mayhem or get immortality out of it.

So, he went to the place he felt the most comfortable. You can now find the former soccer pro doing the legit thing he does best, showing off his skills with a soccer ball at Tiger Field, the field out by the high school. Why there instead of the park? Its cause it has goal posts of course. He's camped out in the middle of the wide open space and is willing to do tricks for you. Seriously, movement helps him cope. So feel free to bother him, try and steal the ball, talk or just applaud, he's actually quite good and doesn't mind an audience.

Right now he's just bouncing the ball off his head meditatively.]

[Wide eyed] That's horrible! So...what do you do when every one else is asleep?

[She sits up very straight, staring forward.]

Key waits for everyone to wake up.

Really? You just wait? You don't do anything or go have fun or read or something?

[She's quite for a moment.]

Key has never considered that before.

[He grins at her] When I can't sleep, I go for a run or something, but you seem like the type to curl up under a blanket and read.

[She seems very unsure, perhaps even ashamed.]

Before Key came to Mayfield, she did not do anything like that.

[He smiles at her still, but more gently this time] Its ok. You should give it a try but you don't have to do it.

[She's thinking about her new and old castmates now.]

Ken, is Key 'boring' or 'weird'?

[He thinks for a minute]

You're not boring, and maybe you're a little different but I wouldn't call you weird.

[Well, he would, but he realizes this may be a sore point for her and he wouldn't have meant it meanly anyways, so he goes the safer route. He likes the little critter after all.]

[Key looks forward, toward the town and its streets, where many drones were walking to and fro. A brief glimmer of longing appears in her eyes.]

Key wants to be human. That way Key will play soccer, and read under covers, and dream. Key would like to do those things.

You can do some of those things now, though I guess it means something different if you're a robot huh?

[Key nods.]

Sometimes Key thinks she feels something, but it is not a very long feeling. If Key makes 30,000 friends she can finally have emotions and humanity.

Well, I dunno how that's actually gonna work, but good luck with that! If you keep believing in what you're doing, you'll get there. You just gotta keep going.

[She continues to stare at the people walking by.]

Key has to believe, because Key has nothing else to lose.

[Ken smiles, he understands that feeling]

Yeah... sometimes that's the best state to be in, cause it means you'll actually do something about it.

[Key nods.]

Key longs to be human, so Key can have laughter and smiles and even anger. Key wants to know what it feels like.

I don't blame you! Feelings are wonderful things! I wouldn't give up happiness and joy just so I wouldn't feel the bad feelings like anger or sadness. I hope you get what you want Key.

Key hopes so, too.

Just be careful when you get them, feelings, even if you're used to them can get kinda overwhelming sometimes.

[Ken nodded]

Yeah, feelings and logic don't always get along, and feelings can be much stronger then reason when they get all worked up, and then they carry you away with them until they've run out.

...Key sees. Key will try to be very careful, then.

That's all you need to do Key. It's ok if it happens once in a while, just be careful about it, ok?

Key will be careful!

[She stands.]

It is getting late. Father will worry about Key, so she must hurry home.

Will Ken practice more with Key later?

Of course Ken ... I mean I will. You can count on it Key. Now you hurry on home.

[Waves as she leaves]
